Generating Homemade Energy - Why?
Why Use Alternative Energy in Your Own Home?
By Leon Lewis
The answer to this question really depends on what is important to you. Is your money important to you? Is the planet important to you? Also, is having energy that is efficient and will last forever important to you? These are some easy questions, all of which you would probably answer "yes" to without hesitation. Think about it: is the energy you are utilizing right now really bringing you to that point? Is it really saving you any money? Is it good for the environment? Is it going to last forever?
If you use electricity from the main power grids, odds are that your energy comes from either coal-run generators or nuclear power. Well, coal is not the answer. Sure, we have been using it for a long time, but it is bad for the environment, costly in the long run and will not last forever. And as for nuclear power, did you know that the leftovers from a nuclear reaction of this type are the most toxic substances ever known to mankind? Can that really be good for the environment?
The reasons to use alternatives such as wind and solar energy are more than obvious. Solar and wind energy are free. Of course they might cost more at first than just hooking up to the main power grid, but then again the energy is free once you set it up. They are not polluting and good for the environment. Also, they are everlasting. As long as there is an ocean, the wind will blow. And as long as there is a sun, solar energy will be usable by us. So, the answer is really quite simple: alternative energy is better, and that is why you should have an alternative energy system in your home as soon as possible.
